Starla was born September 29, 1963, to Betty Ross and Dan Williams. She was the 5th of seven children. Starla was born and raised in Los Angeles California. She graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1982 and was a proud member of the Manual Arts drill team. Starla met and married Adrian Thomas, and within that union, they had a daughter (Andrea Thomas). From then Starla became a faithful member of Agape Community Church for over 20 years. She was honored to be a part of the Usher board and served as the secretary. She was also a member of the Red Hats. Starla was so full of life, she was always smiling and laughing and loved making others laugh. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She planned family trips yearly. Starla was a loving and nurturing LaLa to her grandson Dari'un. She also cared for and celebrated her God sons Tristan Henderson, Ade Wale Shittu, and Elijah Henderson. Starla worked as a security guard and moved on to PBX operator at Antelope Valley Medical Center. She was a business owner and foster parent and spent years as a manager at Walmart. Starla will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Ross, her father Dan Williams, Grandmother Gertrude Ross, Grandfather Leonard Ross, her Aunt Liz Edwards, sister Teresa Judie, niece Chakema Judy, nephew Tilden Williams, and nephew Marcus Ross. She leaves to mourn her daughter Andrea Thomas, Grandson Dari'un Thomas Broadnax, and granddaughter Treasure Rippetoe. Sisters Sybil, Cecilia, Pamela, Kimberly, Taelor, brother Tilden, and two sisters from another mister, Meresa and Tecia. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Large cell lymphoma cancer is what took Starla from us and colon Cancer took her Mother and Aunt from her. Starla's body was donated to science to help others who suffer from this deadly disease called cancer.
