Sterling loved hunting and fishing. He loved all 3 of his grandchildren. He loved hearing about his grand dog. He loved cooking he would experiment with food. He leaves behind 2 biological children, 1 daughter- in-law, 1 son-in-law, and one stepdaughter. He enjoyed watching ghost adventures, old western shows, old western movies, horror movies, and war movies.

He leaves behind two biological children. One son Cody Lewars, daughter- in-law Courtney Lewars and their son Nick Lewars. One daughter Sarah Kalidas and her husband Elias (Ken) Kalidas and her bonus son Kai Kalidas. One stepdaughter Stacy Leymeister and her son Jamey Leymeister.
