Susan Bellavia
Tribute
Susan Joy Bellavia, age 72, of Derby, NY, passed away on July 4, 2025. Susan was born on March 21, 1953. A long-time survivor of mesothelioma, she faced her diagnosis with remarkable courage and resilience, living more than 15 years beyond expectations. Sue was a long-time supporter of cancer research. In her retirement, she embraced the quiet joys of life—tending to her flower garden, watching hummingbirds, sipping coffee on her porch, spending time at the lake, playing on her apps, and enjoying activities with her family. She also had a deep appreciation for music and television, enjoying a wide range of genres and shows that brought her comfort and delight. No services will be held at this time. Family and Friends will be notified directly when arrangements are finalized. In lieu of traditional condolences, the family kindly invites you to honor Sue's memory with living tributes that continue to grow, such as houseplants, flowers, perennials, seeds, or gardening gifts. If you wish to send or bring any of these gifts, please direct them to 3 Eagle Street, Forestville, NY 14062. My Return: In place of sorrow, spread my ashes and plant seeds. From all I once was, precious minerals return to earth, as I become one with my tree—Willow. Through roots and flowers, I come to life again, so you may remember me ~ Sue
