Tribute

Tamara Barncine Millwood was born June 11, 1945, in San Diego, California, to Ernestine Figueiredo and Branford Millwood. She had two half-brothers, Matt Mason and Smokey Millwood. Tamara graduated from Anaheim High School in 1964. She loved her high school friends and attended every reunion she could. She would joke afterward that she was going to outlive them all. Two dear friends who remained were Rick Anderson and Georgia Kile. Tamara had a lifelong love of horses. At 16, she got her first horse, Fugawi. Her love of horses became something she shared with her daughter, Windy. She especially loved Tehachapi and her home in Bear Valley Springs, where Windy spent many summers riding horses and attending summer camps. Tamara loved riding the trails with Windy, and the family also enjoyed riding motorcycles together. Tamara was a devoted mother and wife. She was married to Scott Lewis Bomar for 22 years. When Windy was 12, Tamara and Scott gave her, her first horse, So Big. Tamara loved him "to the moon and back." Later, Windy rode Baby Butt, whose show name was Nantucket. Tamara and Scott worked hard to support Windy's riding and were proud of her accomplishments. Tamara loved cars, especially Volkswagen Bugs with Rat Motors and Corvettes. She also loved Halloween and enjoyed it's fun and playful spirit. For more than 40 years, Tamara worked as a hairdresser. She was hardworking, independent, and always interested in learning new things. Tamara never had an easy life and worked hard for everything she had. She loved her home, her horses, her cars, her friends, and most of all, her daughter. Windy will miss her mother's cooking, especially her cookies, chili, and fried chicken, along with the memories of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Halloween. A Final Message from Windy - Mom, I am so sorry things became so difficult toward the end. I tried to be there for you, but circumstances and people kept me from being as close to you as I wanted to be. I wish I could have been there and protected you. I wish I knew exactly what happened to you at the end and how you really died. But I will not let the end of your life erase all the good that came before it. I will remember the mother who took me riding, encouraged me in school and with my horses, loved So Big, made wonderful food, and shared so many memories with me. I hope you are at peace now and riding again with Fugawi and So Big. I love you, Mom. I will miss you for the rest of my life. You will always be a part of me, and I will never forget you.
