Tammy Hindman Roberts of Elk Grove Village, Illinois entered her eternal life on August 26, 2023, surrounded by her family. Tammy was born July 21, 1958, in Quincy, Florida to loving parents James and Yvonne Hindman. Tammy was a 1976 graduate of Greensboro High School in Greensboro, Florida. She was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church where she was the church pianist from a young age until 2010. She also served as a church pianist at Inwood Baptist Church in Grand Ridge, Florida. Tammy retired from Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida, in February 2013, after 37 years of service. She played competitive coed volleyball and played in several Florida Panhandle Tournaments on all levels. Two of her favorite tournaments were The Annual Florida State Hospital Staff Day and The Annual Greensboro Fourth of July Volleyball Tournament. She was a rodeo champion barrel racer, pole racer, and buddy pickup racer and was awarded many trophies. Tammy had many horses during her lifetime, but "Star Dust", a quarter horse that she trained herself, was her favorite horse of all time. Next to God, Tammy loved animals and had many dogs throughout her life. A few to mention include Bo, Snowflake, Tango, Petey, Lucky, Sarah, and Ralph. Tammy is survived by her mother Yvonne Hindman, of Quincy, Florida, her husband of 46 years, James W. Roberts of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, her children Jaimie Roberts-Duarte (son) and his husband Sam of Wood Dale, Illinois, and Jessica Sullivan (daughter) and her husband Scott Sullivan of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, two beautiful granddaughters Bella and Sasha Sullivan, her sisters, Cyndi Proctor (Joey) of Bristol, Florida, Lisa Rowell (Ty) of Bristol, Florida, and Mary Green (Jed) of Quincy Florida, two very special friends, Ginger Lambert of Coco Beach, Florida and LuBeth Finan of Chattahoochee, Florida, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many cousins, family, and friends. Tammy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents James and Adell Shepard of Quincy, Florida, her paternal grandparents, James Sr. and Irene Hindman of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, her father James Hindman Jr. of Quincy Florida, and nephew CJ Godwin of Quincy, Florida. Tammy requested that her earthly body be given to science for educational and scientific purposes, hoping that her contribution can help many sufferers of stroke and heart disease. On Thursday, August 31, 2023, a visitation with the family will be held at 5:00 p.m., and "A Celebration of Life/Going Home Service" will be at 6:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 1400 Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, officiated by Pastor Jonah Boutell.
