Ted Burris, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. He was a hardworking man, a fighter. And an inspiration to all who knew him: When Ted's health was declining, he made his wishes clear-he did not want to spend his final days in the hospital. With the love of his daughter, Teddy Lopez, and the support of hospice, he was able to remain at home, where he belonged. In true Ted fashion, he held on until he heard his daughter's voice again. He passed peacefully with his final breath beside his daughter Teddy Lopez and son Phillip Burris, as they said their goodbyes. Ted may not have been religious, but we know he is now reunited with his loved ones--Dan, Butch, Bill, his mother Mary, his father Claude, and his best friend Dave fishing at Bartlett Lake, sharing stories, Bud Lights in hand, and waiting for that bite on the line. His legacy of love, strength, and resilience will live on in all of us. We will miss you thank you for everything.
