Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Thelma “Thellie” Stromwasser, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2026, at the age of 94, just as she wished. Born and raised in The Bronx, New York, Thellie met and married the love of her life, Bill Stromwasser. In 1977, they moved to Marin County to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill. For more than 47 years, Thellie was a faithful and active member of the Church of the Open Door. She will be remembered for her deep faith, quiet generosity, and the many ways she lovingly supported family, friends, neighbors, and those in need — often behind the scenes and without recognition. Thellie was also quick with the truth, never one to mince words, and all the more loved for it! Thellie is survived by her children, Carole Gilbert and Michael Strom (Robin), her 9 grandchildren, and her 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Gilbert. Thellie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A private Celebration of Thellie’s Life will be held for the family.
