Tribute

TJ Belt quietly and peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus in the wee hours of the morning on April 3, 2023, at her home in Trucksville, Pennsylvania. TJ was born in Denver Colorado on May 1, 1966, the first-born daughter of Lester H. Belt and Willie (Wilma) Pendergrass Belt. TJ was preceded in death by her father, Lester Belt, and Madelyn Levine, the late wife of Sooper (Michael) Belt. TJ is survived by her wife, Tricia Belt, her daughters Brittnie Jumper, Ashley Jumper, and Carissa Schmidt (Timothy Schmidt), and her mother Willie Belt. Also surviving her are her brothers, Steven Belt and his wife Barbara Green Belt, Sooper (Michael) Belt, and Christopher Nott and his wife Amanda Gilmer Nott, her mother-in-law, Joyce Ketcham, and father-in-law Kenneth Ketcham, her sister-in-law Kim Ketcham (Butch Zimmerman) and Tracy Klepacz (Mike Sonntag), several beloved nieces and nephews, grandson Lucas LacBarr and granddaughter Punky (Rylee) LaBarr. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and Lord at a young age and her faith was the bedrock of her life. She was an active member of the internet campus of New Covenant Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and served as part of the Glory Carriers worship and praise dance team. She was also fluent in American Sign Language and often used it as a part of her ministry. In keeping with her love for people and all living things, she loved animals, especially her dogs. She was also a lifelong fan of the Washington, DC Redskins (Commanders) football team. As a business owner of Jubilee Balloons for several years, she entertained and was loved by her many customers in the Northeast Pennsylvania area. Her specialty was making people smile. She volunteered numerous hours at the local food banks, farmers' markets, nursing homes, schools, and wherever the opportunity arose. She absolutely loved people and people loved her. Her well-known slogan was “Balloons Make Everyone Happy!” Prior to starting Jubilee Balloons, she spent several years working in the florist industry, where she was able to make even more people smile, along with belonging to a clown alley where again, she made people smile. In her own words, when asked how she would like to be remembered, her response was, “My sense of humor, my beautiful heart, God chaser, loved being a balloon artist and loved my wife and family.” TJ was indeed a beautiful person and will be remembered and loved by those who were privileged to be part of her world. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be posted on Facebook.
