Tribute

We lost Tom on May 4, 2026. He was surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Moscow, Idaho, to Rose and Jack Weber. He was the youngest of 8 children. He lived there for 10 years with his 6 sisters and 1 brother. He attended Saint Mary’s Catholic grade school. Tom’s father was killed in a plane accident, and he subsequently moved to Oak Park, Illinois, with 2 of his sisters and his mother. He graduated from Oak Park/River Forest High School in 1976. After graduating, Tom attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN, and finished his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanics. Tom first worked for AA Rental, repairing and maintaining all types of equipment. He found his passion working with hydraulics when he worked for Runnion Equipment. Tom worked next for Midwest Equipment and Sales, working on and inspecting Fire Engines and Ambulances. When Midwest closed, he was hired by the Village of Saint Charles, continuing his work on Fire Engines and Ambulances. He left the Village and worked for Guifree Bros., utilizing his hydraulic expertise on cranes. Tom retired in April 2025 from Interstate Power Systems in Carol Stream. Tom leaves behind his wife Lorraine, sons Tom Jr. and Jay (Lindsey). Grandchildren Jasmine, Jace, Leo, and Jayne. His sisters Kathy, Sue, Kris, and Jacquie, and several nieces and nephews. Tom was bigger than life. He had a booming laugh and a bigger voice. He had a quick mind and a quick comeback for any comments. He loved his family fiercely. Tom left a Tommy sized whole in everyone’s heart. Tom chose to leave his body to science. Upon the return of his ashes, his family will hold a remembrance dinner. In lieu of flowers, Tom would like donations to be made to the Naperville Area Humane Society, https://www.naperhumane.org/donate
