William Harold Knott left us unexpectedly on January 14, 2026. Born on November 25, 1951 into a large family with three brothers and six sisters. He was a Charles County boy through and through, helping with the family farm, attending school at St. Marys Bryantown, becoming a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), and then graduating from La Plata High School in 1969. After high school, William began his career working as a mechanic at various locations before starting his own shop called Triple J’s Auto Repair, where he ultimately retired. He was the most loving, caring, and selfless man and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved competing in and attending car shows, hunting, watching sports and old tv shows, drinking his Dunkin' Coffee, and spending time with his friends and family. Cherished by all who knew him, he was known by most as Bill or Harold, but his favorite titles were Pops and Pop Pop. He was a dedicated man who always put his children first. His kids and grandbabies were his pride and joy, whom he loved more than anything. Pop Pop was always present and never missed a birthday party, baseball game, school concert, or award assembly. He is survived by his loving children: Jessica Reynolds (Derek), Christopher Knott (Brandi) & Brenda Jacobs (Jeffrey); his precious grandchildren: Aubree, Easton, Harper, Chase, Jensyn, Hannah & Adley; sisters Joan Clark, Cindy Stine (Johnny), Jane Savoy (Francis), and Janice Knott; brother Michael Knott, and countless neices and nephews. William is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Spencer & Joan Risdon Knott, brothers, Leo (Bubby) Knott, and Bruce Knott, and sisters, Kathryn (Kay)Hill and Delores Burch. Per his request, there will be no funeral arrangements or visitations. Instead, we will be having a party in his honor with a celebration of life scheduled at a later date.
