Zachary Gray

Zachary Bernard Gray, Sr. was born on November 8, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Raised in a large, loving family, he developed the warmth, resilience, humor, and competitive spirit that would define his life. A gifted athlete, Zach loved basketball and later shared that passion by coaching young athletes. As a father, he introduced his children to sports, believing they built character, discipline, confidence, and perseverance. He also valued education, earning a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism and building a career centered on serving and encouraging others. Throughout his life, Zach worked in transportation, marketing, education, and childcare. No matter the role, he found purpose in mentoring, uplifting, and supporting those around him. Zach loved cheering for the Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers, listening to music, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. His infectious smile, quick wit, and favorite saying, “A hard head makes for a soft bottom,” brought laughter and wisdom to family and friends. Later in life, he embraced his faith and found a church home that strengthened his walk with God. Even through health challenges, Zach chose joy, grace, humor, and unwavering positivity. In one final act of generosity, he donated his body to science, continuing to help others even after his passing. Zach peacefully transitioned on July 13, 2026. He leaves to cherish his memory his five children, five grandchildren, nine siblings, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, encouragement, and love. His legacy lives on in every life he encouraged, every child he mentored, every laugh he inspired, and every smile he shared
