What if I live outside of Science Care’s designated U.S. states?

We currently pre-register persons living in AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, IL, IN, NV, NY, NC, OR, PA, TX, WA, and WI. If you do not live in one of these states, simply tell your loved ones you wish to be a body donor to science, so they are aware to call Science Care either at your entry into hospice/palliative care or at the time of need. Exclusions may include contagious diseases, or the inability to place with a current medical or research project at the time of screening.

What are your exclusions for donation?

Most people meet the criteria for donation with Science Care, including those with cancer, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Certain conditions such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B or C, extremely high or low body mass index (BMI), or the state of passing could exclude donation.

Donation makes sense to me for the advancement and evolution of health care. It’s a great way to celebrate one’s life.
